Where it All Began. . .
The church was organized in 1840 as Union United Brethren Church. Services were held in homes until a log building was built in 1843 near the north side of what is now Union Cemetery. This building served as the church and a school until 1855, when a new framed church was built across the road (on the site of the current church). In 1909 the frame church was moved to a corner of the property and still stands as a remodeled home today.

In 1923, the present church structure was built. The church joined the United Methodist Conference almost 45 years later. This new affiliation changed the name of the church to Union United Methodist Church.

New Builds. . .
In the summer of 1988, the church purchased an additional 4.5 acres of land adjoining the present church property for future expansion of the church. This allowed for the addition of the fellowship hall in 1995.

In 2002, a new parsonage was built on the west side of the property. A new shelter was dedicated 9 years later, in 2011.

Expanding the Vision...
On April 23, 2022, the congregation voted unanimously to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Conference. Later that year in October, the congregation voted to change the name of the church to Union United Church.
